Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Differino at differino.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Service Description

Differino is an online document comparison tool. Users upload two documents (PDF, DOCX, or TXT) and receive a side-by-side comparison highlighting the differences between them. The Service includes document storage, version management, shareable comparison links, and PDF export.

3. Accounts

You can use Differino anonymously (limited to 1 comparison, no account required) or create an account using email or Google OAuth. When you create an account, you are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Providing accurate account information.

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, all your documents, comparisons, and associated data will be permanently removed.

4. Free Tier and Credits

Every registered user receives 3 free comparisons per month. Additional comparisons require credits, which can be purchased as one-time credit packs:

• Diffito: 10 comparisons + 30 days Pro features for €1.99
• Comparino: 50 comparisons + 60 days Pro features for €6.99
• Revisiono: 150 comparisons + 90 days Pro features for €14.99

Credits never expire. There are no subscriptions and no auto-renewal. Pro features (larger file uploads, no export watermark, password-protected sharing, extended retention) are active for the duration specified by the purchased pack.

5. Payments and Refunds

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. Prices are in EUR. Credit packs are one-time purchases and are non-refundable once credits have been used. If you have not used any credits from a purchase, you may request a refund within 14 days by contacting support@differino.com.

6. Intellectual Property

Your documents: You retain full ownership and all intellectual property rights to any documents you upload to Differino. We do not claim any rights over your content. We access your documents solely to perform the comparison service you requested.

Our service: The Differino name, logo, website design, and underlying software are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload documents containing malware, viruses, or malicious code.
• Use the Service to process illegal content or content that violates third-party rights.
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with the Service.
• Use automated tools to access the Service without authorization (a public API is coming soon).
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our permission.

8. Document Retention and Deletion

Documents are retained according to your plan: 14 days for free users, 365 days for Pro users. Anonymous user documents are deleted when the session ends. We may delete documents that exceed retention limits without notice. You can delete any document at any time from your dashboard.

9. Shared Comparisons

You may generate shareable links to your comparisons. Free users' share links expire after 24 hours. Pro users' share links have no expiry. You are responsible for the content you share and who you share it with. Password-protected sharing is available to Pro users.

10. Limitation of Liability

Differino is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that comparisons will be 100% accurate. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications to the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from your settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior. Upon termination, your documents and data will be permanently deleted. Unused credits are non-refundable upon voluntary termination.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and the applicable member state. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the competent courts of the applicable EU jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
